Our Story

In 2020, By Laima was created with the vision that luxurious silk should be accessible to everyone at an affordable price point. Laima used her expertise in silk to source premium quality silk straight from the production factories. 

Words from our Founder:

I had always believed that good hair and skin was down to genetics alone. Having experienced noticeable hair-loss due to the stress of the pandemic, I decided to invest in my hair and hoped to restore my once naturally silky locks. After learning about the numerous benefits of silk to hair and skin and its environmental sustainability, I purchased every silk pillowcase on the market and quickly realised that not all silk is made equal. While some silk pillowcases cost only £20, others can cost over £85! Ultimately the most important factor is the quality and longevity.

With By Laima, I wanted to share what I had learned with others and provide access to luxurious silk products at a more affordable price point! I'm so happy with my hair now and I'm glad that I discovered silk pillowcases and scrunchies early on. 

Silk creates a smooth surface for your face as a resting place preventing pre-mature wrinkles, it's breathable and contributes to shiny, “silky” hair and silk is also one of the most environmentally friendly fabrics. It's completely biodegradable, its production does not consist of chemicals and it requires less water than cotton.
